Ben Marder is a Massachusetts-based artist and writer who brings creative visions to life while exploring the role of art in fostering community. With a deep-rooted belief that art can create spaces for individuals to recognize and appreciate their unique gifts, Ben has dedicated much of his career to teaching. He currently teaches at the River Gallery School in Brattleboro, Vermont, where he inspires students to express themselves through various artistic mediums.
A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, Ben considers painting and drawing vital tools in his storytelling process. His work in mixed media allows him to craft rich characters and environments, showcasing his passion for narrative development. His writing reflects a visual and emotional understanding of his surroundings, and he is currently seeking a publisher for Little Eddaling, a children’s book inspired by his profound appreciation for the natural world.
In addition to his artistic pursuits, Ben has worked as a freelance illustrator for eLife Sciences for over twelve years, with his illustrations featured in esteemed journals such as Nature and Current Opinion in Neurobiology. Through his art and writing, Ben Marder continues to explore the intersection of creativity and community, leaving a lasting impact on those he encounters.
